Job summary

La Crosse County invites applications for a Resident Care Assistant – Overnight Shift at Hillview Health Care Campus in La Crosse, WI. This irregular part-time role offers 0–39 hours per pay period with a rotating weekend schedule and overnight shifts with wage differentials.

You will support residents with personal care, meals, and daily living tasks, document changes, and uphold safety, rights, and confidentiality in a calm home-like setting.

Qualifications

  • Compassionate, dependable and motivated by helping others.
  • Overnight readiness and ability to work calmly.
  • Comfortable with hands-on care, including lifting and mobility support.
  • Able to follow care plans, document accurately, and communicate clearly.
  • RCAC or CBRF experience is a plus and valid for Wisconsin staff requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support residents with personal care, daily living tasks, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Assist with meals, hygiene, and keeping resident areas tidy and comfortable.
  • Administer medications according to the Five Rights and provide treatments as directed.
  • Observe, document, and communicate changes in resident condition.
  • Encourage independence whenever possible and uphold resident rights and confidentiality.
  • Help with light housekeeping, laundry, and post-meal cleaning.
  • Participate in recreational activities and community engagement.
  • Occasionally drive facility vehicles to appointments or events.
  • Work with supervisors, nurses, and team members to provide coordinated care.
  • Provide courteous, respectful service to residents, visitors, and the public.

Resident Care Assistant – Overnight Shift (Irregular Part-Time)

Wage starting at 18.51 per hour + shift & weekend differentials
Schedule: 10:30 pm – 7:00 am | Alternating Thurs/Sun, then Fri/Sat | 0–39 hrs per pay period
