Job summary

Great Lakes Management (GLM) is seeking a dedicated Resident Assistant to provide hands-on care to residents in a long-term care setting. You will assist with daily activities, monitor condition changes, and participate in dining and activities, communicating with families and the case manager as needed.

Qualifications include six months in long-term care or assisted living and CNA/HHA/CNA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in long term care or assisted living residence preferred.
• Registered as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Ability to make responsible choices and act in the resident’s best interests.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs as indicated in the service agreement.
• Help residents reach and maintain independence and quality of life.
• Provide residents with physical and emotional support.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the RN per the service agreement.
• Observe clients and report changes to the case manager.
• Interact with residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection.
• Complete required documentation daily and update care schedules.

Resident Assistant Job Objective(s):

The Resident Assistant is responsible for providing hands-on care, both physical and emotional, as outlined in each resident’s service agreement. Responsible for effectively communicating with residents, families, and notifying the case manager of any changes in condition or concerns. The Resident Assistant assists in the dining room and participating in activities and outings.

Resident Assistant Job Responsibilities:

• Assistresidents with ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) asindicatedon the individualized service agreement
• Help each resident to reach andmaintainthe highest level of performance and independence.
• Provide residents with both physical and emotional support.
• Assistwith treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per the resident service agreement
• The Resident Assistantobservesclientsand reportschanges in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, loss of appetite, weight, etc.tothe casemanager.
• Interactwith residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection as appropriate.
• Complete all required documentation daily, service schedule, flow sheet, communication book, etc.
• Administer and document Medication per policy and Dr. Orders.
