Position Overview

Cedarhurst of Tesson Heights, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Resident Assistant. This position requires availability to work mornings or evenings and every other weekend.

As a Resident Assistant, you will assist residents with personal care needs, enabling them to maintain hygiene, participate in daily activities, and enjoy community involvement.

Responsibilities

1. Assist residents with personal care, including grooming, hygiene, dressing, and nutrition.
2. Respond proactively to signal lights, bells, or intercom system to address residents' needs.
3. Record vital signs and food and fluid intake/output as directed.
4. Transport and assist residents with walking, turning, or repositioning, alone or with assistance.
5. Perform housekeeping duties such as changing bed linens, running errands, and managing laundry.
6. Assist residents with meals and encourage participation in activities.
7. Observe and report residents' problems and conditions to the care team promptly.
8. Promote residents' physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing, aiming to restore or maintain independence.
9. Understand and follow residents' Advance Directives and wishes.
10. Communicate effectively with residents' families regarding care and wellbeing.
11. Collaborate with team members, follow management directives, and resolve conflicts as needed.
12. Perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds independently and up to 200 pounds with assistance, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience as a resident assistant preferred.
• Proficiency in internet browsers, Microsoft Office Suite, electronic health records, and HR systems.
