Orchard Park Assisted Living is seeking a compassionate Resident Assistant to provide direct care to residents. You will assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, help with meals, and monitor residents' well-being. The role requires teamwork with the care staff, adherence to policies, and accurate documentation.

Two part-time evening positions are available (3:00pm-11:00pm, 24 hrs/week). Base pay starts at $17.25/hr for CNAs, with applicable shift differentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.

• Experience in assisted living or long-term care is a plus but not required.

Position: Resident Aide

Position Overview:
The Resident Assistant plays a vital role in providing direct, compassionate care to our residents. This position is responsible for assisting with personal care, monitoring resident well-being, and supporting residents in maintaining their independence and dignity. The Resident Assistant works closely with the care team to ensure a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for all residents.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Resident Care

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Follow the designated shower schedule and support residents during personal care routines.
• Help distribute meal trays during scheduled meal times.

Health and Well-Being Monitoring

• Regularly check and record vital signs, physical condition, and cognitive status.
• Ensure that residents' rights and responsibilities are observed.

Safety and Emergency Response

• Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests for assistance.
• Act swiftly and appropriately in emergency situations such as medical emergencies or fire alarms.

Communication and Documentation

• Complete daily charting and document care provided.
• Adhere to mandatory 4-hour reporting for all Medicaid Waiver residents.
• Report observations and care-related issues to the appropriate team members.

Environment and Facility Support

• Maintain cleanliness and safety in common areas including hallways, lounges, and dining spaces.
• Ensure resident rooms are tidy by making beds, changing linens, and cleaning bathrooms regularly.
• Manage laundry duties, including collecting, washing, folding, and distributing clean linens and clothing.

Resident Support and Teamwork

• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues to foster a positive, supportive work environment.
• Participate in ongoing training and attend all mandatory staff meetings.

Adherence to Policies

• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including proper infection control practices.
• Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Additional Duties

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Resident Care Coordinator.

Schedule & Compensation

We are currently hiring for two part-time Resident Assistant positions with the following schedules:

• Part-Time Evening Position: 24 hours per week, 3:00pm-11:00pm. Rotating weekends and holidays are required.
• Base Pay: $17.25 per hour for certified CNAs, plus applicable shift differentials.
• Evening Shift Differential (3:00pm-11:00pm): Additional $1.50 per hour on weekdays and $2.50 per hour on weekends.

Requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in assisted living or long-term care is preferred but not required.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow established care protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must pass a background check.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for manual tasks, reach, and communicate verbally.
• Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, or perform activities that involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching
• Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
