Job summary

State of Delaware and its Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) seeks an Activity Aide I to organize and supervise group activities, support resident engagement, and promote well-being in daily living. You will assist with activity planning, observation, and record-keeping as part of a treatment team.

Responsibilities include observing progress, assisting with hygiene care, and coordinating community outings. A valid driver's license and compliance with safety protocols are required.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting group activities.
• Ability to work with persons with disabilities.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
• Narrative report writing experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and instructs clients/patients in a variety of activities such as games, music, arts and crafts, and exercise programs.
• Plans and organizes trips and special events.
• Observes and records progress, problems and incidents.
• Conducts initial and ongoing client/patient assessments and interest surveys.
• Develops and implements activity treatment or goal attainment plans as part of the treatment team.
• May drive van or school bus and ensure safety of patients/clients on trips outside the facility.
