Job summary

King Manor Care and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Activities/Recreation Aide to assist in planning and delivering engaging programs for residents. You will support social, recreational and craft activities, help coordinate events, and document participation and progress as required.

This role includes full-time hours with every other weekend shifts. We offer medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401K, holiday pay, paid time off, overtime, and weekly appreciation events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in accordance with regulatory agencies governing the facility.
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning and promoting recreation based on resident needs and interests.
• Encourages social communication through group recreation.
• Provides programs of sensory training, reality orientation, re-motivation and re-socialization.
• Assists residents with participation in religious programs.
• Assists residents with leisure recreation.
• Visits bed-ridden residents and provides appropriate recreation services.
• Assists with the daily radio program, newsletter and recreation calendar.
• Documents resident attendance and participation level.
• Attends in-service training programs.
• Maintains recreation supplies and equipment.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Recreation Director.
• Assists with volunteer program setup and appreciation.
• Assists in transporting residents to/from programs.
• Assists with admission assessments and care plans.
• Supports resident council activities.
• Facilitates community interaction programs.
• Ensures high-quality service in a caring atmosphere.
• Performs other duties as requested.
