Job summary

Heritage Manor in Minnesota seeks an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in planning, implementing and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs for residents. You will assist with crafts, setup, transportation, escort residents to activity areas, encourage participation and follow the care plan to promote well-being and engagement.

Responsibilities

• Does not disclose resident protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations to the Administrator.
• Ensure that all care is provided in privacy, as appropriate, and to knock before entering a resident room or resident care area such as tub rooms.
• Report all grievances and complaints by the resident, family, or visitors to the appropriate supervisor following procedures.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement to evaluate progress per care plan.
• Follow the care plan in providing daily activities for the resident.
• Implement activity procedures by creating decorations, setting up equipment, crafts, prizes and escorting resident to activity area.
• Assist resident with crafts, projects, etc., as necessary and/or directed.
• Oversee residents in scheduled activities to promote well-being through activities and knowledge of resident needs.
• Encourage resident participation in leisure pursuits, both individually and in groups.
• Transport resident to activities as applicable.
• Encourage and support the development of new interests, hobbies and skills.
