Job summary

Benchmark at Rye is seeking a compassionate Programming/Activity Assistant to join our team as a full-time role. The position supports the Activity Director by organizing and implementing programs designed to meet the residents' physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs in a caring, nurturing environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent (bachelor's preferred), training in recreational activities and knowledge of aging and Alzheimer's; benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of aging and disability issues
• Training in recreational activities
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s and related dementias
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks under pressure

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a seven-day-a-week activity program that is engaging
• Lead and implement individual, small group and large group activities according to the schedule
• Support residents’ independent activities
• Understand residents' backgrounds and abilities to tailor programs
• Encourage participation and communicate changes to the Harbor Care Director
• Stay with groups during excursions
