Job summary

Linwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Scranton, PA is seeking an Activity Assistant to join a compassionate care team. This full-time role requires organizing resident-centered programs, leading group activities, and providing 1:1 interactions with residents while supporting independent recreation pursuits.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care or elder care settings.
• Excellent communication with residents and staff.
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment and manage time.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities for events.
• Assist with transporting residents.
• Visit assigned residents one to one on a weekly basis.
• Record residents’ participation in activities.
• Accompany residents to off-unit activities.
• Lead active, passive or sensory activities with the residents.
• Instruct and supervise volunteers.
• Maintain activity supplies on each floor in a neat and orderly manner.
• Assist in planning facility-wide programs.
• Have ability to manage stress tolerance, pressure and anxiety.
