Job summary

Arbors West is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan and participate in resident activity programs, including one-to-one, small group, and large group activities. You will document participation and the value of approaches in medical records, helping create a stimulating and supportive environment.

You will work closely with the resident activity director, employing varied modalities to engage residents and enhance wellbeing, with a focus on community, comfort, and meaningful daily engagement.

Qualifications

• Ability to develop and execute individual and group activity plans.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Comfort with residents/families facing end of life issues.

Responsibilities

• Assist resident activity director as needed.
• Lead and participate in individual and group activities.
• Utilize various modalities to stimulate residents (music, art, pet therapy).
• Develop and post monthly calendars for activities.
• Document participation and outcomes in medical records.
• Support decorating for events and seasonal celebrations.
• Promote volunteer involvement in the community.
• Maintain activity equipment and clean work areas.
