Job summary

Aspire Rural Health System in Marlette, MI is seeking a Resident Activities Assistant to support SNF/LTCU residents. This casual position requires coordinating and delivering engaging activities tailored to seniors, including those with dementia, and working with a team of activity coordinators.

Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, and implementing programs that stimulate mental, physical, social, and emotional well-being of residents. CPR/First Aid are preferred; CNA is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR or First Aid certification required.
• CNA certification preferred.
• Experience with senior adults with dementia/Alzheimer’s preferred.
• Experience in planning and implementing activities and events preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, plan and produce events for residents in SNF/LTCU.
• Decide on activities most valuable for residents and plan each part of the event.
• Create a varied activity collection addressing mental, physical, social and emotional growth and enjoyment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Activities assistants collaborate with other activity coordinators to schedule, plan and produce events for the residents of the institution for which they work. Specifically, these professionals make decisions about which activities might be most valuable for their audience, then plan each part of the event. They're also responsible for creating a collection of activities that offer different types of stimulation, including those that offer opportunities for mental, physical, social and emotional growth and enjoyment.
