Job summary

Mountain Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation seeks an Activity Assistant to support the Activities Director in delivering a creative, resident-centered program aligned with regulations and resident needs.

You will help plan and conduct individual and group activities, maintain calendars, and assist with assessments and communication among staff, residents, and families. This role requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferable one year experience in a long-term care facility.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff and residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting individual, small and large group activities.
• Help develop monthly activity calendars and track attendance.
• Facilitate communication between residents, families, staff and external agencies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized Activity Department and support discharge planning activities when required.
