Overview

The Residency Program Administrator will assist the Residency Program Director and will support all the activities required to maintain an ACME accredited Residency Program.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the Residency Program by maintaining statistical reports and records for ACGME; maintaining all residency files, including resident evaluations; compiling data, completing surveys, and submitting reports to the Program Director & Departmental Administrator.
  • Maintain Residency ACGME accreditation, ensuring timely submission of reports and evaluations as pertains to resident requirements and program application.
  • Process residency applications; assist residents in obtaining visas and appropriate licensure; assist in the development of recruitment strategies.
  • Coordinate residency interviews and special events, such as graduation, special meetings for the program as assigned by the Residency Program Director and the Department Director.
  • Act as liaison to the resident house staff office; address problems as they arise and seek solutions.
  • Ensure physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners meet credential criteria and maintain institutional requirements for established physicians.
  • Act as a liaison to the institution's credentialing office; ensure proper and timely credentials of all residents, faculty, and mid-level providers.
  • Coordinate activities and perform required clerical support as program requirements dictate; keep program parameters and deadlines met, files current, correspondence timely and complete, key personnel and contracts identified.
  • Provide phone support to the program when needed; create a supportive work environment, encouraging a good educational experience for residents.
  • Other assigned duties; expedite daily operations and activities, assigning or performing various tasks as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • 1-3 years ACGME experience or experience working in a training program with residents (preferred).
  • 1-3 years previous experience in residency program management (preferred).
  • A strong work ethic and ability to manage a demanding and changing workload.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide range of persons.
  • Ability to maintain and handle confidential information.
