ACMH in Manhattan's Hamilton Heights seeks a Residence Staff for St Hilda's House to provide direct service to residents and support daily living skills. The role covers evenings midweek through weekends, with a 3:00pm-11:00pm schedule and hands-on duties across safety, medication monitoring, and crisis response.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the entry and egress of residents and guests.
  • Provides the first line of defense in case of emergencies; assists with crisis intervention and building evacuation.
  • Administers self-preservation test, standardized health screening tools, conducts and documents fire drills, and smoke/CO detector tests.
  • Monitors and documents client self-administration of medication, according to program policy and procedures.
  • Conducts building rounds throughout shift.
  • Accurately records resident events, incidents, and building walkthrough observations in the Front Desk Log Book.
  • Provides coverage at other ACMH residential locations as assigned, based on program needs.
  • Maintains a calm, respectful, and professional demeanor when interacting with residents, staff members, and visitors.
  • Reports incidents or behavioral changes in residents.
  • Reviews and updates daily logs.
  • Assists residents in performing adult skills of daily living.
  • Monitors overall maintenance of residence and alerts program director of maintenance problems.
  • Responsible for meal preparation, setup, serving/distribution, and cleanup.
  • Organizes social and recreational activities.
  • Light cleaning as needed.
  • Inventories supplies and organizes storage areas.
  • Audits program records, as assigned.
  • Attends training as requested by supervisory staff.
  • Duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position: Residence Staff, St Hilda's House

Function: Provides direct service to clients, assisting with training in skills of daily living.

Reports to: Program Director

Location: Manhattan (Hamilton Heights)

Schedule: Wednesdays through Sundays (3:00pm-11:00pm)

Tasks:

  • Monitors the entry and egress of residents and guests.
  • Provides the first line of defense in case of emergencies; (i.e. calling management, the fire department in case of a fire, etc.), assists with crisis intervention and building evacuation.
  • Administers self-preservation test, standardized health screening tools, conducts and documents fire drills, conducts and documents smoke/CO detector tests.
  • Monitors and documents client self-administration of medication, according to program policy and procedures.
  • Conducts building rounds throughout shift.

High school diploma and the ability to work with people and the ability to take responsibility to carry out the duties of the position. Willingness to cover shifts at multiple ACMH residential locations as needed.

Salary: $43,680 plus generous benefits
