Job summary

The Graduate Assistant in the Residence Life Office at Buffalo State University supports programming and retention initiatives within the halls and helps create a positive living-learning community. The role requires living on-campus in an assigned apartment, with an on-site meal plan and a pro-rated tuition scholarship covering up to 9 credit hours per semester at in-state tuition rate.

Expect a 20-hour per week schedule and some evening/weekend commitments.

Qualifications

• Current or entering full-time (6 credit hours) matriculated graduate student at Buffalo State University.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; leadership and interpersonal skills; teamwork. Preference for prior residence hall or student leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive living community amongst the building.
• Supervise a student staff.
• Track programming efforts.
• Hearing low-level conduct cases.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
