Job summary

HTU is seeking a Residential Life professional to develop and manage educational programs for students in designated residential communities at Emory University locations. The role includes overseeing housing operations, staff supervision, and serving as a conduct officer.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in student personnel, higher education, counseling, or related field, with at least one year of residential life or programming experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in student personnel, higher education, counseling, or related field.
• At least one year of residential life, housing, or programming experience.
• Ability to live in a residence hall or other on-campus housing facility.
• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, present, track, and evaluate educational programs for students in designated residential communities.
• Manage daily operations of undergraduate and/or graduate residential facilities.
• Hire, train, and supervise interns and resident directors.
• Serve as a conduct officer, adjudicating conduct cases including suspension and expulsion.
• Advise resident hall directors on adjudicating techniques and sanctions.
• Act as first point of contact for students' parents regarding housing situations.
• Coordinate Housing's involvement in campus life activities.
• Serve on and chair committees to develop long-range goals and strategic plans.
• Counsel students on mental health issues and coordinate referrals to professionals.
• Serve as liaison between faculty, academic leadership, and students.
• Coordinate renovation, repair, and maintenance of residential facilities.
• Teach resident assistant classes and manage special projects.
• Participate in on-call rotation responding to student emergencies.
• Represent Housing at admission preview days and liaise with Admission office.
• Manage programming budgets.

Education

Bachelor's degree in student personnel, higher education, counseling, or related field

Master's degree preferred
