Job summary

Livingstone College is seeking an Area Coordinator for Residence Life to manage seven student housing homes near the Livingstone College campus. The role supervises Resident Assistants and coordinates housing operations to maintain a safe, educational living environment.

The position requires strong leadership, crisis management, student development, and collaboration with campus partners. Evening, weekend, and on-call work are expected as part of responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in student affairs, residence life, housing, counseling, education, or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor student leaders.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and on-call hours as necessary.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of seven residential homes affiliated with Livingstone College.
• Supervise the Resident Assistants (RAs) and ensure programming and incident documentation.
• Conduct inspections to ensure health, safety, and housing regulation compliance.
• Manage occupancy, room assignments, and housing concerns with Residence Life.
• Respond to emergencies as part of an on-call rotation and coordinate with campus partners.
• Support policy enforcement, departmental initiatives, and program development.
