Job summary

University Housing in the Athens Area is seeking a Maintenance Worker I to maintain residence halls and support facilities operations. The role requires reliability, teamwork, and the ability to perform a variety of basic repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities include responding to work orders, assisting in repairs, and ensuring safe, clean, and functional living spaces for residents. Weekend or evening shifts may be required; pay is $35,200 with full benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: five years of experience, vocational training in a trade, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond to work orders requesting service.
• Participate in maintenance activities to develop proficiency in skilled trades.
• Perform basic repairs in residence halls and associated facilities.
• Assist with routine maintenance tasks in common areas and resident rooms.
• Maintain pathways and exterior areas and operate hand and power tools safely.
