Job summary

Benedictine College is seeking a Residence Hall Director to lead a male residence hall of 140–200 students and support their education, social, personal and faith development. You will work as part of the Student Life Office to uphold the college mission and maintain a positive living environment.

The RD will supervise staff, reside on campus, mentor students, and coordinate with campus partners to ensure safety, discipline and programming across the hall.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• At least one year of related experience.
• Ability to relate effectively with students, parents, faculty and staff.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
• Computer skills including word processing, e-mail and database software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the student staff (RAs) and provide guidance and evaluation.
• Maintain a visible and approachable presence in the residence hall.
• Mentor students to plan and carry out social, spiritual, educational and intramural activities.
• Communicate the College’s mission and behavioral expectations to residents.
• Fulfill on-duty responsibilities and manage emergencies professionally.
• Coordinate with Operations, Housekeeping, and Residence Life for inventory and maintenance.
• Assist in RA selection and training and report developments to Residence Life staff.
