Purdue University Northwest is seeking a Housing and Resident Custodian for New Calumet Hall Dorm. The role covers cleaning public areas, resident rooms, and supporting maintenance tasks to maintain a safe, healthy environment for students and staff.

The position offers a schedule Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm with occasional evenings or weekends. Education required is a high school diploma or GED; no prior custodial experience is required, with benefits including medical/dental/vision and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior custodial experience required; custodial/janitorial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize public and common areas (lobbies, hallways, restrooms).
• Clean unoccupied resident rooms and apartments (beds, bathrooms, kitchens).
• Move furniture as needed to clean areas.
• Handle trash and recycling duties across properties.
• Assist in training student staff for summer cleaning projects.
• Assist maintenance with basic repairs and lockouts; snow removal as needed.
