Job summary

Purdue University Northwest is seeking a Building Services Assistant to join the Building Services Department on the Hammond campus. This role supports event setup, custodial duties, and campus moves during a Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm schedule, with pay between $17.00 and $18.25 per hour.

Responsibilities include coordinating with event sponsors, maintaining cleanliness of classrooms and common areas, operating custodial equipment, and assisting with recycling and deliveries.

Qualifications

• Custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to travel to other PNW locations as needed.
• Background check and motor vehicle records check required.

Responsibilities

• Setup and dismantle furniture and equipment for events.
• Assist event sponsors and customers with special needs during events.
• Coordinate with scheduling department to identify customer expectations.
• Provide support for office, furniture, and equipment moves.
• Determine delivery times and placement with customers.
• Perform custodial tasks including cleaning floors, restrooms, and windows.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals and operate custodial equipment.
• Operate and maintain university vehicles used on campus.
• Respond to customer service calls and safe issue resolution.
• Assist with recycling duties and general campus tasks.
• Travel to other PNW locations as needed.
