Job summary

Southern Oregon University seeks a custodian to complete custodial duties in University Housing and support operations. Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, offices, and common areas, supervising student workers, and assisting with moves and event setups.

The role requires physical work, adherence to schedules, and the ability to work on-campus Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, with potential schedule adjustments. Prior custodial experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, written and verbal.
• Strong customer service experience requiring diplomacy.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean meeting rooms and arrange desks and chairs; clean boards.
• Clean offices; dust mopped hallways and floors.
• Clean, sanitize, and stock restrooms; clean guest room bathrooms.
• Assign work for student workers and monitor performance.
• Report maintenance and safety issues; perform minor repairs and checks.
• Set up rooms for events; handle last-minute requests.
• Lock/unlock buildings; ensure security and proper lighting.
