Job summary

YMCA of the East Bay in Berkeley is hiring an on-call Residence Custodial & Desk Representative to support the Downtown Berkeley location. You will perform front desk duties, assist residents and guests, and help maintain clean, safe living and common areas, including kitchens and restrooms.

Shifts include morning, afternoon, and overnight coverage. The role offers union representation and wage progression, with starting pay at $20.11/hour (Berkeley minimum plus enhancements) and growth as hours

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide hospitality, customer service and safety assistance to residents and members.
• Maintain clean and safe restrooms and public areas.
• Check in/out residents and guests and coordinate with maintenance staff.
• Follow Front Desk procedures and keep the desk organized.
• Assist during emergencies and document incident details.
