Mohawk Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a Residence Counselor to support adults with mental illness living in a group home.

Responsibilities include counseling, teaching daily living skills (including medication management and coping skills), crisis intervention, and arranging recreation for socialization and stress reduction. The role emphasizes maintaining a clean, safe environment, promoting inclusion, and transporting clients with agency vehicles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college classes in human services preferred.
• Demonstrated ability in helping others.
• Valid and insurable driver's license; agency vehicles available for transporting clients.
• Experience working with mental illness or other human service experience.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Ability to be organized and have good time management skills.

Residence Counselor- Full Time

Responsibilities of the Residence Counselor are to provide services to adults who have a diagnosis of mental illness and living in a group home. Specific duties of the Residence Counselor included:

• Provide supportive counseling;
• Providing rehabilitation skills such as teaching of daily living skills including medication management and coping skills, crisis intervention and prevention;
• Recreation activities for socialization and stress reduction; and
• Maintaining a healthy and clean environment for our clients, ensuring clients are doing their chores correctly and assisting with cleaning activities.
• Promote a culture of inclusion and belonging.
• Provide transportation to clients using the agency’s vehicles.

Skills/Qualifications for the Residence Counselor include:

• High school diploma required, college classes in human services preferred.
• Demonstrated ability in helping others.

Jones Home Schedule and Salary

$21.46/hour, 40 hours per week. $44,636.80/annual equivalent.

Sunday 9:00am-5:00pm

Monday 3:00pm-11:00pm

Tuesday 3:00pm-11:00pm

Wednesday 9:00am-5:00pm

Thursday 11:00am- 7:00pm

Friday and Saturday- Off

Dominion House Salary and Schedule

$22.08/hour; 40 hours per week; $45,926.40/annual equivalent.

Saturday 3:00pm-11:00pm

Sunday9:00am-5:00pm

Monday 3:00pm-11:00pm

Tuesday 2:00pm-10:00pm

Wednesday 9:00am-5:00pm

Thursday and Friday-Off
