Job summary

Constructive Partnerships Unlimited in New York is seeking a caregiver to support individuals with developmental disabilities. The role includes assisting with daily living activities, monitoring health, and accompanying clients to medical appointments and community programs.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a New York State Driver’s License, and agency insurability. Prior experience with developmental disabilities is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide well-being support for the individual.
• Assist with activities of daily living (toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, meals).
• May administer medications and record them.
• Assist with use of special equipment.
• Respond to changes in the individual’s condition.
• Accompany to clinics, outside programs, and activities as needed.
• Maintain staffing ratio and be available for overtime as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Duties (include but are not limited to the following):

• Responsible for the individual’s well being.

• Assist participants with activities of daily living including toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, meal programs, and specialized medical needs as required.

• May administer medications and records same.

• Facilitation in the utilization of special equipment.

• Responds to changes in the individual’s condition.

• Shall accompany people we serve to clinic appointments, outside programming, recreation programs, etc. as required.

• Shall be responsible to maintain staffing ratio by being available for mandatory overtime as required.

• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Physical Expectations

This position requires that employees are able to stand and or sit for prolonged periods of time. The employees must also be able to lift and transport people we serve and perform all physical aspects of the job.

Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Experience: 2 years related experience working with people who experience Developmental Disabilities

License: New York State Driver’s License and Agency Insurability
