Job summary

Crescent Energy is seeking a Reservoir Engineer to support asset development across its unconventional portfolio. You will focus on development planning, production forecasting, and performance evaluation to optimize capital efficiency and recovery.

The role requires collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, experience in ARIES and RTA tools, and the ability to integrate data-driven insights into development plans. Houston-based, on-site role.

Qualifications

• Proven team-first mentality with a track record of actively collaborating across disciplines
• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
• 4 or more years of upstream operator experience, with a minimum of 2 years of dedicated reservoir engineering experience
• Experience in Unconventional Reservoirs
• Strong technical expertise and daily proficiency in ARIES for economic evaluation and decline curve analysis
• Proficiency in RTA software, specifically Whitson+
• Ability to leverage Generative AI tools for practical engineering problem-solving, data analysis, and workflow efficiency
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Generate and maintain production forecasts, type curves, and development cases for assigned asset areas
• Evaluate well and reservoir performance using rate transient analysis (RTA), pressure transient analysis (PTA), and numerical simulation when necessary
• Develop recommendations related to well spacing, landing zones, completion design, and production practices
• Perform project-level economic analyses for the purpose of AFEs and field development utilizing ARIES
• Lead integrated lookbacks that connect reservoir performance with drilling, completion, and operating outcomes
• Evaluate and report competitor results detailing interpreted strategies and how it relates to internal practices
• Work with the Finance team on budget and long-term forecasting, consistent with the Company’s development plan
• Partner with Land, Commercial, and Finance to advance opportunities — identifying and evaluating trades, swaps, and bolt-on transactions adding resource and extending inventory at attractive returns
