Job summary

The Caturus platform, Houston-based, seeks a Reserves Engineer to support reserves evaluation and analytics, maintaining ARIES databases and assisting corporate FP&A. Reports to VP, Corporate Reserves.

The role collaborates with engineering, accounting, IT, GIS, finance, operations, and land teams to drive accurate data and robust economic models, including A&D, budgets, and cross-functional reporting using SQL, Excel, and BI tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years in reservoir engineering, reserves, investment banking, data analysis, or a related oil & gas role.
• Oil and gas industry experience required.
• Strong ARIES database skills and experience with relational databases and large data models.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and administer the corporate SQL/Access databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
• Prepare reserves estimates, production forecasts, and economic models using ARIES and Excel.
• Lead reserves reporting & reconciliation and help drive internal budgeting and planning processes.
• Support acquisitions, divestitures, and corporate strategy through reserves and valuation analysis.
• Develop and manage data models and relationships to support cross-functional analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with asset engineers to input, validate, and manage production forecasts, reserves, and economic evaluations.
