Job summary

The City of Farmington is seeking a Reserve Alternative Response Unit EMT to provide safe transportation for individuals seeking shelter at the Sobering Center. You’ll operate a City vehicle, perform inspections, and ensure passenger safety in a responsive, professional manner.

Candidates must hold a NM EMT license, a valid NM driver’s license, and be 18 or older. English reading/writing proficiency is required, along with passing exams, background checks, and pre-employment screenings.

Qualifications

• Must have NM EMT license (basic or higher).
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18+ years old.
• Valid NM driver's license with clean driving record for past 3 years.
• Able to read/write English and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Must pass entrance exam, interview panels, background check, pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for Shelter clients to Sobering Center.
• Operate City-owned vehicle safely and professionally.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and related paperwork.
• Assist with passenger loading/unloading and route adherence.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and equipment, and report issues.
• Demonstrate understanding of safety and emergency procedures.
