Responsibilities

  • Support research studies and clinical trials across oncology and translational research.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and study sites to support recruitment, implementation, and development of clinical research studies.
  • Review and evaluate results and contribute to study conclusions.
  • Collect and analyze complex data, conduct experiments and interviews, and document results per procedures.
  • Develop and implement complex research projects, methodologies, procedures, and criteria.
  • Train individuals and groups on equipment operations, research protocols, and techniques.
  • Provide operational guidance on day-to-day activities of unit staff and student workers.
  • Assist with writing and submitting grant applications and proposals to secure funding.
  • Conduct literature reviews, prepare reports and materials, and disseminate information through various channels.
  • Participate in training in mixed methods techniques applied to clinical trial recruitment.

Job description

  • Focus on clinical and translational cancer research rather than basic science laboratory research
  • Support research studies and clinical trials
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary research teams, patients, and study sites to support recruitment, implementation, and development of clinical research studies
  • Review and evaluate results
  • Collect and analyze complex research data, conduct experiments and interviews, and document results according to established policies and procedures
  • Develop and implement complex research projects, methodologies, procedures, and criteria
  • Train individuals and groups on equipment operations, research protocols, and techniques within a specialized laboratory or research area
  • Provide operational guidance on day-to-day activities of unit or program staff and student workers
  • Assist with writing and submitting grant applications and proposals to secure research funding
  • Conduct literature reviews, prepare reports and materials, author or co-author publications, and disseminate information to appropriate entities through various communication mediums
  • Participate in provided training in mixed methods techniques applied to clinical trial recruitment
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of research or other relevant work experience required
  • Background in social sciences
  • Facility with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working with qualitative research analysis software
  • Master's Degree required
  • Candidates with experience and/or current credentials to work within the research systems of the Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as research that comes from federally and other funding type systems is preferred
  • Must pass an initial caregiver check and every four years under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law
  • Must continuously maintain eligibility to work in the United States
  • University sponsorship is not available, including transfers of sponsorship and TN visas
  • Must provide proof of work authorization and eligibility to work
  • Department will not support a request for a J-1 waiver
