Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in biomedical engineering or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience in matrix biology.
• 10 years of experience in human tissue experimental design, sample preparation, and data analysis.
• 5 years of experience in HPLC and mass spectrometer instrument operation and maintenance.
• Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, postdoctoral fellows, staff, and faculty.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out research in the Drug Research Unit, including pharmacology studies for HIV cure therapeutics and biomarkers of HIV disease.
• Write grants, devise research strategies, design and carry out experiments (e.g., ex vivo tissue assays, quantitative LC/MS/MS), interpret data, and report results to internal and external audiences.
• Prepare and submit scholarly papers for peer review under direction of the DRU co-directors.
• Supervise junior lab members in their research.
