Ohio State University’s Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) Center for Antibody Therapeutics (CAT) seeks a Researcher 1 to support translational cancer research focused on antibodies, ADCs and antibody-based immunotherapies. The role involves in vitro and in vivo lab work, data collection, literature support, and collaboration with the PIIO CAT team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in biological/health sciences.
• Three years of relevant experience with an associate's degree, or one year with a bachelor's degree.
• Ability to apply basic scientific concepts and follow established protocols under supervision.
• Relevant lab experience in biological/health science research (cell culture, molecular biology, protein biochemistry, chromatography, antibody-based methods).
• Strong organizational, analytical, record-keeping, and communication skills.

Scope / Summary

The Researcher 1 will support the Center for Antibody Therapeutics (CAT) within the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) under the direct supervision of Dr. Zhiwei Hu, Co-Director of the PIIO CAT at the OSUCCC – James. The Researcher 1 will perform structured research assignments and routine laboratory activities supporting translational cancer research focused on antibodies and proteins, antibody‑drug conjugates, bispecific antibodies, and antibody‑based CAR‑NK and CAR‑T cell immunotherapies. The Researcher 1 will also perform routine in vitro and in vivo laboratory procedures using established protocols; collect, analyze, and document research data; and communicate findings to the research team; assist with literature reviews, figures, manuscripts, reports, and grant materials; maintain laboratory safety and compliance requirements; support routine laboratory operations, supplies, and equipment; and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, health sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience required; three years of relevant experience required with an associate's degree, or one year of relevant experience required with a bachelor's degree. Ability to apply basic scientific concepts and follow established research protocols under supervision. The OSUCCC – James is the only cancer program in the United States that features a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a freestanding cancer hospital on the campus of one of the nation’s largest public universities. The Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) is a comprehensive bench‑to‑bedside research initiative focused on harnessing the body’s immune system to fight cancer at all levels – from prevention to treatment and survivorship. The Center for Antibody Therapeutics (CAT) at the PIIO is a specialized technology hub dedicated to the discovery, development, production, optimization, and translation of antibody‑based therapeutics from basic science research to preclinical and clinical studies for cancer treatment. The Center will leverage cutting‑edge technologies to develop monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies (bsAb), antibody‑drug conjugates (ADCs), antibody engineering, and other antibody-based immunotherapies including CAR‑T and CAR‑N‑K cells. This center will serve the PIIO research community, clinical teams, and external partners by providing essential expertise and infrastructure to accelerate immuno‑oncology research from basic science discovery to translational research, commercialization towards clinical trials in alignment with the overall strategic growth goals of the PIIO.
