Position Summary

Provides overall coordination and management for research activities in the Kidney Transplant Research Laboratory. Manages and conducts research activities for the laboratory which includes daily experimental design and execution, data analysis/interpretation and ordering/maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment. Responsible for assisting with developing protocols and regulatory documents in collaboration with the Principal Investigator, to include supervision of laboratory personnel and laboratory budget responsibilities.

  • Assist with developing protocols and regulatory documents in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in cellular biology, immunology, and/or molecular biology.
  • Proficiency in writing and communicating in English.
  • Experience with animal handling and husbandry.
  • Technical expertise and knowledge regarding research and protocols.
  • Ability to train and work with others.
  • Multitasking ability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preparation of regulatory documents to UNMC offices.
  • Grant writing skills.
  • Experience managing staff in a research setting.
  • Experience handling mice and small procedures (injection, husbandry, tissue sampling) and manuscript preparation.
