Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Research Technologist to perform laboratory tasks and complete routine assays following established protocols. You will work on clinical and/or research experiments, learn techniques, and gain problem-solving skills through progressive training on the School of Medicine campus in Baltimore.

Responsibilities include running tests, collecting data, maintaining equipment, and training users in standard procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field required.
• Education may substitute for experience per JHU equivalency rules.
• Ability to learn techniques and methods of the lab quickly.
• Strong problem‑solving and data collection skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical and/or research laboratory experiments following established protocols.
• Run lab tests, collect data, and complete measurements.
• Train users in standard equipment operation and routine techniques.
• Maintain and test standard laboratory equipment and monitor inventory.
• Identify and resolve common problems in routine assays.
• Set up experiments based on defined standards and assist with data interpretation.
• Assist with routine lab maintenance and other duties as assigned.
