Job Description: The Sabnis lab is a translational cancer research group. We use chemical and genetic tools and model systems ranging from cancer cell lines to preclinical animal models to patient samples, with the goal of identifying and validating new treatments and biomarkers for children and young adults with sarcomas. The ideal candidate for this position has strong scientific laboratory training, is comfortable working independently and collaboratively to design and troubleshoot experiments, and is looking for a longer-term growth position within our group. The position will require 40 hours per week and will report to Amit Sabnis, Associate Professor in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. 20% of your time will be spent handling administrative tasks (reagent ordering, lab database management, managing the training and consistent practice of other laboratory members) and 80% on bench research (reagent preparation, tissue culture, treatment and care of mice, figure preparation, data presentation, and grant and manuscript writing).
