Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc. (MCW) in Milwaukee, WI seeks a laboratory support specialist to assist in department research through data handling, experiments, and routine lab tasks.

You will help design experiments, maintain records, and communicate results to the team. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree with strong biology/chemistry knowledge and writing skills; experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; appropriate experience may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

• Carry out experimental designs for sponsored research projects and perform routine experiments.
• Record and compile accurate records and communicate summaries of experimental results.
• Assist with evaluation, interpretation and assessment of experimental data and quality control of assays.
• Participate in meetings with principal investigator and research staff.
• Order and maintain inventories and operate routine laboratory equipment.
• Prepare media and maintain cells using culturing techniques.
• Oversee daily lab operations in supervisor's absence.
• Other duties as assigned.
