At Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), we solve national security challenges through excellence! The Plutonium Capability Transuranic Waste Management group's (NPI-6) Acceptable Knowledge team is seeking a highly motivated Research Technologist with advanced knowledge in science or engineering. Projects typically require technical depth, contributing to development, implementation, and completion of objectives. NPI-6 offers opportunities to learn new skills in a supportive environment, emphasizing how we do our jobs as much as what we do. Our team members adhere to nuclear management requirements, working independently on challenging projects that require cooperation, adaptability, initiative, and support to meet LANL's National Security Mission.
Regulations: Demonstrated safety and security compliance, with knowledge of all relevant Laboratory and industry regulations.
Skills: Experience in developing techniques, fulfilling research goals, and contributing to new principles and concepts. Knowledge of scientific principles, experimental processes, mathematical formulas, computations, and data gathering methods.
Leadership/Followership: Ability to work collaboratively, supervise research activities, prepare documentation, and contribute to scientific publications.
Skills/Experience: Depth of knowledge through experience, certification, or education; problem-solving skills; co-authoring publications is a plus.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree with 5 years related experience, or equivalent, is preferred.
