Job summary

VitaKey Inc. seeks a Research Technician to assist in lab maintenance at our Durham, NC headquarters. You will handle routine mammalian and microbial cell culture tasks, prepare stock solutions, and support data annotation and LIMS systems as part of a wet lab and machine learning research interface.

The role emphasizes organization, documentation, and a proactive mindset to support various research projects and collaborations within the team. On-site work is required in Durham.

Qualifications

• AS or BS degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, food science or allied disciplines.
• Hands-on biology coursework with mammalian and microbiology cell culture is preferred.
• Familiarity with lab notebooks and electronic documentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mammalian and microbial cultures, including thawing, passaging, plating, freezing, and aliquoting stocks on schedule.
• Perform routine QC assays on cultured cells.
• Manage inventories of reagents and consumables across projects.
• Prepare stock solutions and buffers.
• Maintain and annotate data in LIMS systems.
• Prepare stocks of compounds, nutrients, foods, ingredients for screening.
• Aid formulation development activities.
• Collaborate with team members and external labs; present ideas and results.
