Job summary

EMD Electronics in Carlsbad seeks a Research Technician to support the New Product Development team in shelf-life, stability, and materials compatibility testing of organosilicon and organometallic precursors used in thin films deposition.

You will perform bench-level sample preparation, operate lab instruments (TGA/DSC, TSU, PXRD), document experiments, maintain traceability, and collaborate with R&D, QA, and production to optimize methods while adhering to EH&S policies.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or other life science discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in a research associate or scientist role.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine, hands-on laboratory tasks to support materials testing programs including shelf-life and stability studies.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment such as TGA, TSU, ovens, and gloveboxes.
• Support data analysis, compile results, and draft highlights or technical summaries for stakeholders.
