Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Research Technician role at Thomas Jefferson University for the Center for Translational Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. The Research Technician will be responsible for conducting laboratory and research work, including tissue culture and data analysis. The Research Technician will also be responsible for utilizing analytical skills and laboratory skills in the day-to-day tasks associated with the role.

Qualifications

1. Strong analytical skills and laboratory skills
2. Experience in research and data analysis
3. Excellent organizational and time management skills
4. Effective communication and documentation skills
5. Ability to execute experiments with attention to detail and accuracy with minimum to no supervision
6. Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. cell/molecular biology, chemistry, medical technology, neuroscience, biochemistry) or equivalent practical experience
7. One year ‘wet lab’ work experience, including mammalian cell culture required
8. Strong teamwork skills with a proven ability to effectively interact and collaborate with other scientific disciplines

Preferred Experience

1. Experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR and qPCR, Western blotting
2. Experience with animal handling/willingness to perform in vivo experiments
3. Experience with flow cytometry would be beneficial for the role
