JOB SUMMARY
Works under minimal supervision to provide responsible technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of science.
Technician will help with day-to-day maintenance of large Center mouse colony. In addition, they will follow established protocols for scientific lab work and troubleshoot when needed. Will work directly with mice according to established regulations. Individual will work with researchers to organize and oversee breeding schemes to accommodate experimental plans. Will process and genotype by ear clips and PCR. Will be responsible for keeping and maintaining accurate written and data base records of all animal activity. Technician must be organized, pro-active and able to assemble and operate various laboratory equipment. Individual will carry out additional experiments and assume other job duties as required to ensure sustained operations of the laboratory and as directed by the principal investigator.
Must be willing to work with mice.
