Research Technician II - Molecular Biology

Summary

The Research Technician II position supports routine nutritional and epigenetics research. Responsibilities include following established procedures for mouse colony maintenance, recording results, laboratory ordering, and preparing biological specimens for analysis. Experience with molecular biology is desirable but not required.

Job Duties
  • Conduct epigenetic research using in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models.
  • Assist with nutritional and epigenetics research tasks.
  • Maintain mouse lines, including breeding and record-keeping.
  • Prepare buffers and dilutions for laboratory use.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments such as PCR.
  • Collect and document cell and tissue samples for molecular analysis.
  • Order laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Perform DNA methylation and gene expression analyses.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Equivalent experience (e.g., four years) may substitute for a degree.
  • No prior experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in molecular biology or related fields is a plus.
  • Experience with PCR, mouse models, or microbiology studies is desirable.
