Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, is seeking a full-time Research & Laboratory position. The role supports ongoing research by performing routine techniques, preparing reagents, and maintaining records to ensure smooth operations of the CB-Lab Seemann.

Responsibilities include data collection, literature review, and collaboration with team members. A Bachelor's degree or two years of college in a related field is required; more experience is welcomed for progression within the lab.

• Performs routine scientific and medical research work in field such as biology, chemistry, physics, or related field.
• Assembles and/or operates laboratory equipment and apparatus.
• Records research data according to prescribed procedures and discusses results with supervisor.
• Assists in data collection for project reports.
• Reads literature and discusses implementation of new procedures.
• May supervise lower-grade laboratory personnel on parts of a project.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Works under minimal supervision to provide responsible technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of science.
Perform routine laboratory experiments using established molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques to support ongoing research projects. Assist with sample preparation, data collection, and maintenance of accurate laboratory records while ensuring adherence to standard protocols and safety procedures. Prepare reagents and maintain laboratory supplies and equipment to support daily research operations. Collaborate with laboratory members to facilitate experimental workflows and contribute to the efficient operation and progress of the research program.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Education Bachelor's Degree With major coursework in field of assignment and no experience or Two (2) years of college with emphasis in coursework in field of assignment or High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience

No Experience Required With Bachelor's Degree Or

2 years of laboratory experience at level of Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent with two (2) years of college or
4 years of laboratory experience including two years at level of Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent with High School Graduation or GED equivalent

Job Duties

• Performs routine scientific and medical research work in science area such as biology, chemistry, physics, or other related scientific field.
• Assembles and/or operates various laboratory equipment and apparatus.
• Records research data in accordance with prescribed procedures, discussing results with supervisor.
• Assists in collection of data for project reports.
• Reads literature and confers with supervisor concerning implementation of new procedures.
• May plan for, and provide working supervision to, work of laboratory personnel of lower grade engaged in limited phase of research project.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
