JOB SUMMARY
Works under minimal supervision to provide responsible technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of science.
A research technician position is immediately available in the Department of Bioinformatics at UT Southwestern Medical Center to provide laboratory support for projects investigating wound healing, skin barrier formation, and the mechanisms of tissue remodeling. Responsibilities include both routine and specialized laboratory procedures such as tissue culture, biochemical assays, histology, microscopy, reagent preparation, molecular cloning, data collection, and other duties as assigned. We are looking for a motivated, organized, highly dependable and detail-oriented person with basic wet-lab knowledge. A bachelor’s degree with major coursework in a related field and strong academic record is preferred. Ideal candidates will be motivated to learn new skills and techniques and additional training for specialized experiments will be provided. The successful candidate will be working with a highly collaborative, dynamic, and mutually respectful team.
