Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Research Technician to join the Ghanbarpour Laboratory in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics.

The role offers hands-on training in cryo-EM sample prep, data analysis, mass spectrometry, membrane biology, biochemistry, and cellular assays in a state-of-the-art lab setting. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree and up to one year of lab experience, with interest in pursuing graduate or medical study.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
• Up to one year of laboratory experience is preferred.
• Experience in biochemistry, genetic microbiology, cell biology, or protein engineering is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assists with research studies, experiments and assays, including data collection and solution preparation.
• Maintains data files and performs data entry for research projects.
• Prepares tissue cultures, reagents, and probe tests as needed.
• Follows safety procedures and maintains documentation on laboratory conditions.
• Ensures lab equipment and spaces are cleaned and maintained.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
