Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is seeking a Research Technician to join the Brantley Lab. The role supports basic science through molecular biology, insect husbandry, microscopy, and data analysis within a collaborative academic team.

Ideal candidates will have a strong molecular biology foundation and be able to work carefully, independently, and reproducibly; training will be provided in microscopy and image analysis as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field; 2+ years lab experience.
• Proficiency with standard molecular biology techniques including PCR, DNA extraction, cloning, bacterial culture, preparation of media and sterile technique.

Responsibilities

• Perform molecular biology experiments and data collection.
• Maintain insect husbandry and specimen handling.
• Operate microscopes and analyze images.
• Keep accurate lab records and maintain an organized workspace.
