Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a Research Technician to join the Cohen-Karni team in CMU's Hybrid-Nanomaterials and Nano-Bioelectronics Group. The role focuses on developing bioelectrical actuators and translating bioelectronic platforms for clinical relevance.

The successful candidate will assist in fabrication, experiment setup, data collection, and maintaining lab safety and inventories, collaborating with students and researchers to meet project goals.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Materials Science and Engineering.
  • Coursework in electrochemistry is required.
  • Experience with chemical wet lab work is required.
  • Experience with in vivo experimentation is desired.
  • Experience programming in Matlab and/or Python is desired.
  • Experience with SEM/TEM/Raman/XPS/XRD is desired.
  • Ability to work self-paced and with a team to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Performs lab setup and instrument repair as needed.
  • Manages lab stock, safety, and documentation of results.
  • Assists in data collection and analysis for experiments.
  • Supports in vivo related work and multidisciplinary collaboration.
