Job description

The Kurmangaliyev lab is seeking a highly motivated Research Technician to join our interdisciplinary team focused on the intersection of Molecular Neuroscience and Computational Genomics. The successful candidate will contribute to both experimental and computational aspects of ongoing research projects in the lab. The role will primarily involve supporting the development and analysis of single-cell transcriptome atlas of the Drosophila brain.

This is a two year position ending in Sept 2027.

Job Description :

• Conduct experiments involving Drosophila genetics and next-generation sequencing. Estimated time : 25%
• Analyze next-generation sequencing and connectomics datasets : Estimated time : 25%
• Develop and maintain lab's core computational pipelines and datasets. Estimate time : 25%
• Support ongoing research projects through additional lab duties as needed. Estimate time : 20%
• Communicate with PI and attend lab meetings and seminars : 5%

Job Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred
• Research Lab experience is preferred.
• Strong Communications skills and ability to collaborate with other staff and faculty members.
• Ability to work at a laboratory bench and perform experiments is required.
