Job summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Support Associate within the Radiation Oncology Department, Shen Laboratory at the Rutgers Cancer Institute. The incumbent will gain foundational research skills in genomic instability and assist with data collection, analysis, and publication preparation under supervision.

Responsibilities include supporting laboratory operations, conducting experiments as directed, and maintaining databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Marine Biology or a relevant science field, required.
• Effective oral and communication skills.
• Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Carries out research activities under the guidance of the Principal Investigator (PI), including data collection, analysis, and documentation.
• Performs functions as directed for experiments that are proposed in the grant, under the direction of the principal investigator and other designated lab members.
• Utilizes computer skills, equipment, and technology to support the project, and maintains project-related databases.
• Summarizes scientific research process and communicate project findings.
