We're looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate Research Study Assistant I to join our research team in the Emergency Department at our Detroit, United States facility. In this entry-level position, you will provide essential support to our emergency medicine research initiatives by assisting with study coordination, data collection, and documentation in a fast-paced clinical environment. You will work collaboratively with principal investigators and research staff to ensure the smooth execution of research projects while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and participant care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in emergency department research while making a meaningful contribution to advancing scientific knowledge and improving patient outcomes.

  • Assist with recruitment, screening, and enrollment of study participants in the emergency department setting, following established protocols with meticulous attention to detail
  • Collect, organize, and maintain accurate research data using designated databases and documentation systems while managing urgent timelines
  • Prepare and manage study materials, including informed consent forms, questionnaires, and participant records with precision
  • Support the coordination of study visits and appointments, including scheduling and participant communication in a dynamic emergency environment
  • Perform data entry and verification tasks with accuracy to ensure data integrity and quality
  • Assist with literature reviews and compile research information as directed by the research team
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and IRB guidelines
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with study participants, including those in distress, research staff, and external collaborators
  • Support the preparation of study reports, presentations, and regulatory documentation
  • Perform administrative tasks including filing, organizing, and managing research materials efficiently
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to changing research priorities, urgent requests, and emergency department operations
  • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment by supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge
