Job summary

American Takii, Inc. in Yuma, AZ seeks a Station Operations Manager to ensure safe, efficient operation of the Yuma Research Station, coordinating crop production, field and greenhouse activities, facilities and budgets.

You will translate research priorities into executable station plans, supervise staff and contracted labor, manage resources, and uphold safety and biosecurity standards across operations. The role partners with breeding and R&D teams and requires strong leadership,

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Agricultural Science or related field.
• Five years’ vegetable production experience or equivalent.
• Licensed Pesticide Applicator certification or ability to obtain within four months.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional Spanish and/or Japanese is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field and greenhouse operations to meet quality standards.
• Develop station plans with breeding team; schedule labor and space.
• Coordinate planting, crop rotation, irrigation, fertility and crop protection.
• Collaborate with external organizations regarding irrigation water and seed production.
• Monitor crop performance and take corrective action as needed.
• Support data collection and ensure data quality checks.
• Lead station staff and manage contracted labor and vendors.
• Manage station relationships with growers, universities and suppliers.
• Develop and manage operating budget and capital investments.
• Ensure biosafety, regulatory compliance, safety standards, and inventory controls.
